San Ramon

Excellent schools, proximity to major employers, suburban amenities, and a beautiful natural setting.

Welcome to San Ramon

Excellent schools, proximity to major employers, suburban amenities, and a beautiful natural setting make San Ramon a sought-after community in the East Bay area.

San Ramon was primarily a bedroom community until the early 1980s for homeowners commuting to San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley and San Jose. The development of the Bishop Ranch Office Park starting in 1982 turned San Ramon into a major regional employment center, now home to more than 600 companies in more than 30 industries. Top San Ramon employers are Chevron (which bases its corporate headquarters there), AT&T, and Bank of the West.

San Ramon is where the majority of new or newer construction can be found in the East Bay. One such development is City Center Bishop Ranch, slated to open in fall 2018 and featuring 300,000 square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations.

With a population of over 75,000, San Ramon is the fourth largest city in Contra Costa County. The community is served by the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.

What We Like About San Ramon

  • Canyon Lakes Golf Course and Brewery is a great place to go for happy hour and to watch the sunsets.
  • Primavera Ristorante is your go-to for Italian food. The menu is a winner! You walk into an open kitchen environment and can smell the Italian spices, the Italian music gets you into the mood, and the food is terrific!
